Installation Requirements and Guidelines

To install and use the DFC3 daughter card, you need the following:

• Catalyst 6500 series switch or Cisco 7600 series router

• Supervisor Engine 720 with an MSFC3 running Cisco IOS software on both the Supervisor

Engine 720 and the MSFC3

• The WS-F6700-DFC3A, WS-F6700-DFC3B, and WS-F6700-DFC3BXL daughter cards can be

installed only on the following Catalyst 6500 series modules:

WS-X6704-10GE

–

WS-X6724-SFP

–

WS-X6748-SFP

–

WS-X6748-GE-TX

• Observe the restrictions listed in Table 1 for PFC3/DFC3 mismatch.
