5.  Troubleshooting
a)  Cannot connect to the AP. 
¾  Check if SSID, Authentication, and WEP settings of 8370 are the same as AP’s. 
¾  Some particular settings : 
z  Cisco AP: Authentication must be "Open System". 
z  Lucent AP: The Preamble must be "Long". 
z  Symbol AP: The power saving must be "disabled" 
b)  Does not power up after pressing POWER key. 
¾  Make sure the battery is loaded. 
¾  Charge the battery and check the charging status. If no charging information shown on the 
display, reload the battery and check if the battery is properly installed then try again. 
¾  Call for service if problem persists. 
c)  Cannot transmit data or programs via the terminal’s communication port. 
¾  Check if the cable is plugged tightly, then, 
¾  Check if host communication parameters (COM port, baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bit) 
match with the Terminal's. 
d)  Keypad does not work properly, 
¾  Turn off the power then press the 7, 9 and POWER keys simultaneously to enter the system 
menu. 
¾  From the system menu, select the Test and then its sub-item KBD. 
¾  Perform the key-in test. 
¾  If problem persists, call for service. 
e)  Scanner does not scan, 
¾  Check if the barcodes used are enabled, or 
¾  Check if battery-low indicator is shown on the LCD display. If yes, charge the battery. 
¾  If problem persists, call for service. 
f)  Abnormal responses, 
¾  Open the battery cap and re-load the battery. 
¾  Enter system menu by pressing 7, 9 and POWER keys simultaneously. 
¾  Check if the terminal can have a correct response by performing tests. 
¾  If problem persists, call for service.
