2.1.8 Enhanced ESD Protection for SIM Interfaces
To optimize ESD protection for the SIM interfaces it is possible to add ESD diodes to the inter-
face lines of the first and second SIM interface as shown in the example given in Figure 11.
The example was designed to meet ESD protection according ETSI EN 301 489-1/7: Contact
discharge: ± 4kV, air discharge: ± 8kV.
