TECHNICAL SERVICES
INVERTER REPAIRS
We offer a repair service for most inverters. Due to the complexity of most inverters, we often require the full machine to repair any of the circuit boards
inside. A quote for the repair will be given before any work is carried out. If the customer does not want the machine repairing there is a small charge
(small MMA & TIG & PLASMA inverters) to cover estimate time and carriage costs. This increases for complex or large machines. We can
organize collection & delivery to anywhere in the UK & Ireland, this is charged at our cost price only.
MACHINE REPAIRS
We will attempt to repair any problem machines, (MIG, TIG, PLASMA, PLASMA WELDING MACHINES, MULTIPROCESS MACHINES, ETC.). We have
vast amount of stock available for spares, & if we don’t have it in stock we can probably make it or offer an alternative.
We offer a fast and reliable service, and we can also organize collection and delivery of any machine from almost anywhere.
RECTIFIER REPAIRS WE CAN ALSO LOAD TEST DIODE & THYRISTOR RECTIFIERS
We offer a repair service to most press-fit diode type rectifiers, and thyristor controlled rectifiers, notably Migatronic, Portamig, Miller, Genset, Esab, Mosa,
We guarantee the work done for six months.
We also manufacture complete rectifier stacks to suit any machine - prices on request.
SEE PAGE 37 FOR READY MADE COST EFFECTIVE RECTIFIERS
TRANSFORMER AND INDUCTOR REPAIRS
Transformers are one of our specialties we can make almost any transformer from small auxiliary transformers to large 3 ~ welding transformers. We can
rewind most transformers & inductors even ones with a welded up core.
If any transformer is beyond repair we can design and wind a new one to replace it at very economical prices.
All rewound coils and new transformers are covered under warranty for one year.

SERVICE ENGINEER TRAINING COURSES FAST TRACK
We now offer a fast track engineer training course to three different grades.
Grade 1
–Basic grade, this is ideal for new trainee technicians / engineers & sales staff. This is aimed at those with very little knowledge of the workings of
welding machines, who would like to be able to carry out basic faultfinding, repairs & servicing on mig & tig machines. Ideally the technician should have
some basic understanding of electrical principles but we can tailor the training to suit abilities. We will cover the following subjects; electrical safety &
electrical testing for safety, the principles & workings, faultfinding & repairs to basic mig & tig machines. We aim to offer a ‘hands on’ approach possible with
examples on actual equipment. We will provide notes and information to take away to provide long term help. The course will be for 1 or 2 days depending
on ability. We can advise on the phone if 1 or 2 days will be needed.
Grade 2
–Standard grade, this is ideal for those with a basic working knowledge of conventional welding machines. We include training to more in depth
levels on mig tig & plasma machines. We cover the following, faultfinding & repair, calibration & validation, electrical safety & testing for electrical safety. We
include hands on experience with tips & technical notes to take away. The engineer will be able to fault find & repair to a good standard when grade 2 is
achieved. The course will be for 1 or 2 days depending on ability. We can advise on the phone if 1 or 2 days will be needed.
Grade 3
– Advanced grade, only for competent engineers who want to further their abilities through to faultfinding & repairs on inverter based machines,
synergic migs, & complex tig machines including some electronics. Again we provide hands on teaching as well as technical notes & tips. This is the
ultimate level to reach, at this level the engineer will be confident to work on a wide range of conventional & complex machines.
The course should only be for 1 or 2 days.
For health & safety reasons anyone working on electrical machines must be ‘competent’. Completing our
training courses shows a level of competency which should satisfy the Health & Safety Executive.
When any course is completed we issue a certificate showing the grade achieved
