Section 3: Basic Operation
3. When the TPC has initialized (approx. 15-30 seconds, indicated by a green circle in the left
corner), press the Lamp button on the TPC Main menu to ignite the lamp.
If the lamp does not ignite:
• If a safety interlock switch is open (such as when the lamp door is ajar), the lamp cannot be struck.
The Lamp button will be disabled until the interlock problem is resolved. An alarm window also
appears on the TPC.
• If the lamp fails to ignite even though the interlock system is OK, the projector automatically
retries ignition using 100% of the maximum power acceptable for the installed lamp. If this also
fails, a new lamp is likely needed.
For complete power-up troubleshooting, refer to Section 5 Troubleshooting
.
3.2 POWER DOWN PROCEDURE
1. From the main TPC menu press the Lamp button to turn the lamp OFF (briefly hold the button
down).
2. Wait approximately 10 minutes to allow fans to cool the lamp.
3. At the operator's side of the pedestal, set all breakers to OFF (Figure 3-2 Power-down Procedure).
NOTE: Manual shut-down only. Optional automation not yet available from Christie.
