Environmental Considerations

The operating environment must maintain reasonable temperature and humidity levels

and be as free of dust as possible. See Appendix A for a list of the system’s

environmental requirements.

Underwriters Laboratories Recommendations

Consider the following Underwriters Laboratories (UL

) safety recommendations:

 Elevated operating ambient—If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the

operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room

ambient. You should install the equipment in an environment compatible with the

maximum ambient temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer.

 Reduced air flow—Install the equipment in a rack so that the amount of air flow

required for safe operation of the equipment is not compromised.
