Fuel pumps are notorious for sudden failure
without warning. It shouldn’t come as a
surprise, when you think about it. The
fabric diaphragm inside is pounded up
and down thousands of times per minute
for years, pumping gasoline out of the
tank and up into the carburetor. If any
dirt or corrosive elements find their
way into the tank, they will
be pumped into the poor
