1. Make sure the unit is unplugged and cooled.
2. Press the lid release button to open the lid. CAUTION: When opening
the lid and handling the capsule receptacle, be mindful of sharp
objects. There are two small, sharp puncturing needles located above
and inside the capsule receptacle that puncture the K-Cup®.
3. If a K-Cup® was used, carefully remove the capsule receptacle with the
K-Cup®. Discard the K-Cup®, then rinse the receptacle with water and
dry completely.
4. If coee grounds were used, remove the reusable coee filter. Discard
the grounds, then rinse the filter with water and dry completely. The
reusable coee filter is designed to be reused. Do not throw it out.
NOTE: Be sure to discard brewed coee grounds promptly. If they sit in
the brew chamber or coee filter for an extended period of time, they
may begin to mold.
5. Leave the lid in the open position so the brewer can dry completely.
6. If necessary, rinse or wash the removable rubber trivet with a sponge
and warm, soapy water.
7. Wipe down the base of the unit with a damp cloth or sponge, if
needed. Dry completely. Never immerse the brewer or its plug in water.
The brewer and its accessories are not dishwasher safe.
8. Calcium buildup, caused by minerals commonly found in water, can
adversely aect brewing. To decalcify the brewer, use the
self-cleaning function described on p. 15, as needed.
