6. Fill the water tank with no more than 14 oz of filtered water and no
less than 6 oz. NOTE: Water should not pass the 14-oz measurement
marking located on the back left wall of the water tank.
7. Push the lid of the brewer down until it clicks into place.
8. If using a tall cup or travel mug, place it securely on the base with
the movable lift in its lowest position. If using a shorter mug, you
can bring it closer to the drip spout by raising the movable lift to
its higher position. Simply raise the lift from the lower position until
it clicks into the upper position. Place the mug securely on the
raised lift. NOTE: To lower the lift, press the arrow on the lift button
and push the lift all the way down.
9. Press the brew button. The brew indicator light will turn red while
the unit heats up and dispenses the hot coee. NOTE: Do not open
the lid during brewing. Doing so will trigger the unit's overheat
protection (indicator will blink rapidly and then unit will shut
down). If this happens, press the brew button to reset.
10. During last 10 seconds of brewing, the indicator light will blink
before turning o. You will also hear a whirring sound, which is a
normal part of the brewing cycle.
11. After the indicator light has turned o, carefully remove the filled
mug from the base. CAUTION: Mug and coee will be very hot.
12. Allow the unit to cool. Once cool, discard the used K-Cup® or
coee grounds and clean as directed in Cleaning and Maintenance.
