1.0 INTRODUCTION The new HTM mechanical hand-tachometer accurately measures RPM and surface speed on a wide range of applications. Favored in several industries, including elevator maintenance, mining and others, HTM mechanical tachometers use a pointer and dial to display RPM or surface speed—without the need for batteries.
2.0 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS All operators should wear safety goggles when using this or any other tachometer. Failure to do so could result in serious injury! 1. Check condition of the mounting hubs of the cone tip, funnel tip, shaft extension and surface speed wheel. Replace those that are worn, loose-itting or cracked. 2. When using the Surface Speed Wheel, make sure it its the tachometer shaft snugly.
3.0 COMPLETE KIT All models are supplied as a complete kit that includes the gauge, cone tip and funnel tip adapters, shaft extension and instruction manual, packaged in a foam-itted carrying case. 4.0 TAKING A MEASUREMENT Pin Measuring Shaft 151 mm Range Switch Pointer Button (Top View) 1. Slide the Red Range Switch to select a multiplier for your application. If the range is unknown, start at “x100” and adjust to lower range as needed. When properly set, the needle will register a value between Min. and Max. on the dial. 2.
