Check Point VSX Administration Guide NGX R67 | 72
Multi-Domain Log Server licenses are available in packs of 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250. This license is
bound to the Multi-Domain Log Server IP address.
Domain Log Server License: This license is intended for a single Domain with log files hosted only on
the Multi-Domain Server. The license is bound to the Log Servers IP address. Individual Log Servers
licenses are not required for Log Servers hosted on an Multi-Domain Log Server.
You can import Multi-Domain Security Management licenses can using the Check Point command line
licensing tool or the SmartDomain Manager. See the Multi-Domain Security Management Administration
Guide.
VSX Gateway/Cluster Member Licenses
Each VSX gateway or cluster member requires its own license, bound to the gateway or cluster member IP
address. Each gateway/cluster license covers a predefined number of Virtual Systems (10, 25, 50, 100 and
250) and these licenses are cumulative.
VSX/Domain Management Server Bundle Licenses
VSX/Domain Management Server bundle licenses are a cost-effective solution for purchasing Domain
Management Server licenses that allow you to manage a combination of multiple Domain Management
Servers and multiple Virtual Systems. Bundle licenses cover a predefined number of Domain Management
Servers and Virtual Systems and are available in packs of 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250.
Each license bundle allows you to manage the following items, according to its limit:
One Main Domain Management Server
Up to (10, 25, 50, 100 or 250) Domain Domain Management Servers
Up to (10, 25, 50, 100 or 250) Virtual Systems
A bundle license allows you to manage any combination of Domain Management Servers and Virtual
Systems, providing that the total does not exceed the license limit. Each Domain Management Server can
host any number of Virtual Systems up to the license limit. For example, you can define any of the following
combinations with one 10 pack bundle license:
One main Domain Management Server and 10 Domain Domain Management Servers containing one
Virtual System each
One main Domain Management Server and one Domain Domain Management Server containing 10
Virtual systems
One main Domain Management Server, one Domain Management Server containing four Virtual
Systems and three Domain Management Servers, each containing two Virtual Systems
In addition to the VSX/Domain Management Server bundle license, you must purchase and install Multi-
Domain Server licenses for each Multi-Domain Server and VSX gateway/cluster licenses for the required
number of Virtual Systems. Furthermore, if you are using Domain logging, you must purchase the
appropriate licenses.
Note - Virtual Routers and Virtual Switches do not require licenses.
There is no limit to the number that you can define.
Bundle License Packs are Cumulative
The maximum number of Domain Management Servers and Virtual Systems covered by your license is
equal to the sum of all bundle license packs installed. For example, if you purchase two 10 license packs
and one 50 license pack, you can define up to three main Domain Management Servers, 70 Domain
Domain Management Servers and 70 Virtual Systems. As with individual license packs, you can distribute
the Virtual Systems amongst Domain Management Servers so long as the cumulative total of Domain
Management Servers and Virtual Systems does not exceed the maximum.
