SNMP Support
The IOPRINT+ Print Server's SNMP support allows network supervisors to monitor and
control the IOPRINT+ Print Server using network management platforms such as HP
OpenView, IBM SystemView, etc. This is accomplished through the SNMP agent and the
SNMP MIB.
The agent (device software) responds to standard SNMP commands and reports device
configuration and conditions. When a change in condition occurs, the SNMP agent will send
a message (a Trap) to the associated management station.
The IOPRINT+ Print Server's SNMP MIB is a collection of objects that are monitored and
controlled using SNMP's get and set commands. The MIB files are in the Mib folder on the
CD-ROM. The appropriate.MIB file must be imported into your SNMP management program.
The available files are:
• Mib1p.mib (Single port models)
• Mib2p1s.mib (Two parallel ports, 1 serial port model)
• Mib3p.mib (Three parallel port model)
