Preparing the Station for Activation on ChargePoint
Step 1 cont’d: Pinpoint the Station
3. Enter the station’s physical location.
a) In the search field above the map, enter the station’s physical address, then click the magnifying glass. You can enter
a full or partial address—you will pinpoint the exact location of the charging station in the next step.
b) Change to Satellite View and drag the pinpoint to the parking spot where the station is located.
c) Click Update Address to accept the address shown to the right of the satellite image, or click Manually edit the
address to enter the correct address—one that will make sense to drivers.
d) In the Helpful Information for Drivers field, enter any information that will make it easier for drivers to find the
station. For example, “Back parking lot”, or perhaps “Second floor of parking garage, near mall entrance.”
4. Click Save and Activate Later.
NOTE: A station’s address and
physical location may vary
slightly. The goal is to make it
easy to identify the station’s
location on a Google™ map.
Therefore, be as accurate as
possible when pinpointing
a station’s location. This is
especially important when you
install multiple stations at the
same street address.
