FILLING THE SPRAYER
Makesurethefilterbasketisinplacetokeepdebrisfromenteringthetank.
Determine the amount of mixture needed for your application. Add the proper amount of water to
the tank. Add the proper amount of chemical to the tank (check the chemical label for proper ratio of
chemical).Stirmixtureintankwithacleanutensil(likeapaintstirrer).Thetankwillholdthe4-gallon
(15.1L)capacityplusthechemical.
Itisnotnecessarytocompletelyfillthesprayertankwitheachuse.Youcanfillthetankwithonlythe
amount needed for each application.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions included on their product label.

Thisbackpacksprayerisequippedwitha3stagefilteringsystem(seefigure
1).Stage1isafilterbasketincorporatedintothetankopeningwherefluidis
added.Stage2filterislocatedattheinletofthepressurecylinder.Stage2
isaremovableIn-Tankfilter.Stage3isaremovablefilterincorporatedinto
theshut-oassembly.Periodiccleaningofthesefiltersisrecommendedto
insureconsistentfluidflowthroughthesprayer.Thiswillalsoreducesprayer
component wear.
Thestage3filterisaremovablefilterincorporatedintotheinletsideofthe
shut-ovalve(seesection“disassemblingandrepairingtheshut-ovalve”).
Makesurepressureisreleasedbeforedetachingthehosefromtheshut-o.
Itisbesttohavenoorminimalfluidinthepressurecylinderbeforeremoving
andreinstallingthestage3shut-ofilterasfluidcanleakfromthehose.
