until the obstructions are clear or the safetyreversing sensorsare correctly installed. When the
obstruction hasbeen cleared or the safetyreversing sensorshave been aligned, the door will close
when the garage door opener is activated.TTC WILL NOT workif the garage door opener is operating

®
(SAFETY REVERSING SENSORS)
When properly connected and aligned, the safetyreversing sensorswill detect an obstruction in the
path ofthe infrared beam. If an obstruction breaksthe infrared beam while the door is closing, the door
will stop and reverse to full open position, and the opener lights will flash 10 times.Ifthe door is fully
open, and the safety reversing sensors are notinstalled, or are misaligned, the door will not close from
a remote control. However, you can close the door if you hold the button on the door control or keyless
entry until the door is fullyclosed. The safetyreversing sensorsdo noteffectthe opening cycle.
ENERGY CONSERVATION
For energy efficiency the garage door opener will enter sleep mode when the door is fully closed. The
sleep mode shutsthe garage door opener down until activated. The sleep mode is sequenced with the
garage door opener lightbulb;asthe lightbulb turns offthe sensor LEDs will turn off and whenever the
garage door opener lights turn on the sensor LEDs will light. The garage door opener will not go into
the sleep mode until the garage door opener has completed 5 cyclesupon power up.
LIGHTS
The garage door opener lightbulbs will turn on when the opener is initially plugged in; power is
restored after interruption, or when the garage door opener is activated. The lights will turn off
automatically after 4-1/2 minutes. An incandescentA19 light bulb (100 watt maximum) or for maximum
energy efficiency a 26W (100Wequivalent) compact fluorescent light(CFL) bulb may be used.NOTE:
Do not use halogen, short neck, or specialty light bulbs as these may overheat the end panel or light
socket. Do not use LED bulbs as they may reduce the range or performance of your remote controls.
Light Feature
The garage door opener is equipped with an added feature;the lights will turn on when someone
enters through the open garage door and the safety reversing sensor infrared beam isbroken. For
added control over the lightbulbs on your garage door opener, see page 34.
