Viewing the Status of the Hardware Monitor
Viewing the information under Hardware Monitor lets you know:
• If the LLC card fan, drive fans, and power supplies are functioning. If a fan or power
supply fails, see “LLC Card Fan Assembly” on page 4-35,
“Drive Fan Assembly” on page 4-2, or “Power Supply” on page 4-42 and replace it.
• The current Celsius temperature and highest Celsius temperature of the library.
You can set the warning and shutdown temperatures during configuration to protect
the tape media.
If the temperature reaches the warning temperature, the
SERVICE REQUIRED
indicator blinks. If the temperature reaches the shutdown temperature, the indicator
remains lit, and no additional move requests are accepted. When the temperature
drops 2ºC below the warning or shutdown temperature, the condition will be cleared.
Lib Vendor
ID:
Identity number for the library vendor.
Lib Vendor
Name:
The name of the library vendor; for example, STK for Storage
Technology Corporation.
Lib Product
Name:
Normal type The product name assigned by the library vendor; for
example, L80.
Upgrade
type
The product name for which the upgrade is valid.
Lib Size:
Normal type The maximum available cell capacity of the library.
Upgrade
type
The number of cells that would be added.
SCSI Vendor
Name:
The library vendor name reported on the SCSI interface.
SCSI Product
Name:
The library product name reported on the SCSI interface.

The library has a free version of the Web-enabled software
used for monitoring the library.

Admin
The library has the upgrade version of the Library Status Tool.
