Configuration
Notes: Your library could contain more than two types of drives. The types of cleaning
cartridges that are in the cleaning cartridge cells determine which types of drives
can be automatically cleaned. Each vendor’s LTO drives, the DLT1 and SDLT
drives use unique cleaning cartridges. The DLT 7000E and DLT 8000 drives
share the same type of cleaning cartridge. Refer to the L80 Tape Library User’s
Guide, 96021, for cleaning cartridge label codes.
Some tape management software does not support the Auto Clean feature.
Consult your system administrator before enabling this feature.
Access the Lib Info/Cfg Menu and complete the fields as shown in the following
table.

SCSI ID:

00–15 Enter the SCSI identification (ID) that you have chosen for the
library; for example, 00.
Date: mm/dd/yyyy Enter the current date, where mm is the month (01–12), dd is the
day (01–31), and yyyy is the year (2000–2010); for example, 05/
19/2001.
Time: hh:mm Enter the current time, where hh is the hour (00–23) and mm is the
minutes (00–59); for example, 15:39.

During initialization or power-on, the robot tries to grab any
unreadable, unlabeled, or improperly placed cartridges. If the robot
cannot grab one of those cartridges, the library status will be “not
ready.” To change the setting, press the
SELECT button.

You can choose the 64 option for third-party software licensing
reasons. Press either the up or down arrow to toggle to 64.
SCSI Type: HVD
LVD
The LLC card sets the SCSI type during initialization.
Version The firmware sets this entry.
Note: If you modify the SCSI ID, Auto Clean, or the # Cells data fields, or choose the
64 cells option, and press the
MENU button to exit the configuration menu, the status display
shows Needing Lib Reset:
SELECT to RESET the Library. Press the
SELECT button to reset the library.
