Card Locations and Functions
Hand Init Testing
The hand assembly is calibrated at the bottom of the first column. The reach carriage
assembly extends to test for proper operation.
■ Card Locations and Functions
The following table lists the cards, their locations and their functions. The LLC card is
the only card that is a field replaceable unit.
■ Power System
The basic library contains two standard power supplies. You can order and install two
redundant power supplies so that the library and all the drives will continue to receive
power if one of the power supplies fail.
The power supplies are installed in two racks at the rear of the library. The standard
power supplies are on the left side, and the redundant power supplies are on the right
side, as shown in Figure 1-2 on page 1-3.
Each rack provides up to 50 percent of the total power.
Notes:
• If you install only the two standard power supplies, the top rack contains one
power supply that provides 50 percent of the total power and the bottom rack
contains a second power supply that provides the other 50 percent of the total
power.
• If you install all four power supplies, each power supply provides 25 percent of
the total power.

interface.
MPU Plugs into LLV card Allows the LLC card to communicate with the
native Fibre Channel.
FC router FC router Provides the SCSI to Fibre Channel bridge.
