The AnaLASER
TM
detection system is a high sensitivity, air
sampling system. Through the laser based light source fire
can be detected in its incipient stage. Smoke particles are
drawn by a fan into an air sampling pipe network to the de-
tector. This allows detection over a large area, in confined
spaces or from air return ducts. The AnaLASER
TM
system is
FM Approved and meets NFPA 72 requirements for smoke
detectors.
Typical Applications
The AnaLASER
TM
detection system can be used in many
applications where conventional spot -type smoke detec-
tors are used, but are stretched beyond their reasonable
capabilities. The Ana-LASER
TM
system can be used in envi-
ronments with high volume air movements such as clean
rooms, or with unpredictable airflow patterns such as atri-
ums and hangars. It can provide high sensitivity detection
over a large area. Applications which require the detector to
be obscure, as in prisons and museums, are also well
served by the AnaLASER
TM
system. The following list in-
cludes some of the many applications for the AnaLASER
TM
detection system.
Aircraft hangars, anechoic chambers, art galleries, atriums,
boiler rooms, cable tunnels, cathedrals, clean rooms, com-
puter rooms, concert halls, container vessels, cruise ships,
dormitories, equipment racks, escalators, historical build-
ings, hospitals, hotels, laboratories, libraries, machine
rooms, motels, museums, nuclear reactors, office buildings,
particle accelerators, passenger rail
cars, prisons, radio transmitters, recording studios, satellite
construction facilities, schools, sports complexes, stadi-
ums, switchboards, telephone exchanges, theaters, under-
ground railway stations, warehouses.

The AnaLASER
TM
system consists of four components:
1. Air Sampling Network,
2. AnaLASER
TM
Detector Assembly,
3. AnaLASER
TM
Control Unit (see Catalog No.1161)
4. AnaLASER
TM
Power Supply (see Catalog No. 1161).
Air Sampling Network
The air sampling network is constructed of 1 inch,
3
/
4
inch and
1
/
2
inch smooth bore pipe which is distributed
throughout the protected area. A sampling network may
employ only one length of pipe or up to 20 pipes which all
return to the detector. Air sampling holes are strategically
placed along the pipes according to code, per NFPA 72
guidelines or as required for maximum protection.
