5.4 Error Detection and Alarms
FA4800 detects fault conditions of the radio and user links and initiates alarms to
alert the user.
To store the event log, first define the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and
trap address of the management PC, see Chapter 4 for details.
Alarms (traps) are displayed in the Event Log in the lower panel of the Main Menu
screen. The alarm log is saved as a TXT file.
The event log includes the following fields:
• Sequential number (ID)
• Date and time stamp
• Message
• Trap source
• IP address of the ODU that initiated alarm.
