The G501SP ‘Glass Cockpit’ Flight Display Suite
The Sierra G501SP retrofit program brings your cockpit into the 21
st
century with a tightly-integrated
“glass panel” upgrade. By combining Garmin’s versatile, high-performance G1000-series LCD digital
displays with our extensive Citation engineering expertise, Sierra offers you a complete, customized
avionics solution, fully STC’d for the Citation 501SP.
It’s likely you already have a few Sierra upgrades on your aircraft. If so, you’re already acquainted
with Sierra’s quality engineering and workmanship. The Sierra G501SP program offers yet another way
to give your classic aircraft the capabilities of a brand new jet at a fraction of the cost. Trade in your old
instruments, choose the options that make sense for your individual needs and let Sierra do the rest.
With Garmin’s world-class avionics and Sierra’s engineering expertise, you can’t go wrong.
Integrate Your Cockpit
The G501SP puts a wealth of flight-critical data at
your fingertips. Its glass flightdeck presents flight in-
strumentation, navigation, weather, terrain, traffic and
engine data on large-format, high-resolution displays.
The simple, intuitive interface makes it easy to learn
and navigate.
Customize Your Display
Sierra’s PMA-certified machine shop utilizes the
latest in sophisticated waterjet cutting technology to
custom-machine instrument panels to individual
owner requirements. Using this high-precision cut-
ting machine, Sierra’s technicians will customize your
installation for your unique requirements, function-
ally blending the G501SP flight deck with your exist-
ing instruments. Our CNC machining expertise means
a perfect fit for both your original and new avionics
components, with virtually no additional finishing or
adjustments.
Enjoy Advanced AHRS Architecture
The G501SP replaces traditional mechanical gyro-
scopic flight instruments with Garmin’s ultra reliable
GRS77 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS).
AHRS provides accurate, digital output and referencing
of your aircraft position, rate, vector and acceleration
data. It’s even able to restart and properly reference
itself while your aircraft is moving.
Enhanced Situational Awareness
The sophisticated G501SP flight deck seamlessly
integrates built-in terrain and navigation databases,
providing a clear, concise picture of where you are
and where you’re heading. A Jeppesen® database
supports onscreen navigation, communication and
mapping functions. For safer arrivals and departures,
optional ChartView™ – available through Jeppesen’s
JeppView™ subscription service – lets you overlay your
aircraft’s position on the electronic approach chart to
provide a visual crosscheck. Using information from
the built-in terrain and U.S. obstacles databases, the
system displays color coding to graphically alert you
when proximity conflicts loom ahead. In addition,
the G501SP can be augmented with optional Class-B
Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) for an
extra margin of safety in the air.
View your position on taxiways with SafeTaxi®, a
built-in database of over 650 U.S. airport diagrams.
Optional FliteCharts®, an electronic version of the
National Aeronautical Chart Office (NACO) U.S. Termi-
nal Procedures Publication, lets you quickly find and
view all NACO Departure Procedures (DP), Standard
Terminal Arrival Routes (STARs), approach charts and
airport diagrams on the MFD.
