If your two-line phone does not have separate jacks, you can use a splitter to join the two lines
as shown in Figure 9.

A four-line phone can use two splitters to join the four lines as shown in Figure 10.

Connecting an IP phone
Plug the IP phone into your switch/hub and configure it as described in Adding IP phones on
page 81. If you are using an unsupported IP phone, refer to its user guide for
configuration instructions.
Connecting a modem
Plug the modem’s telephone cable into a unit extension jack. Your modem is now an extension
that can access all lines and take advantage of call routing features.
If you don’t want to change your dial-up settings for the modem, enable Direct Line Access for
the extension associated to the modem. For more information, see Direct line access on page 61.
A modem connected to a TalkSwitch unit operates at up to 28 kbps.
