TALKSWITCH CONFIGURATION 198
Telephone Lines > Detection and Timers
The Telephone Lines > Detection and Timers command allows you to set telephone line
timers, and perform the ring pattern test.
1. Choose Troubleshooting > Telephone Lines > Detection and Timers. The Telephone
Lines - Detection and Timers window appears.
2. Select the Minimum required time to detect a DTMF digit. This is how long the caller must
press the number key on their phone for the TalkSwitch unit to detect a valid digit. Choices
range from 40 ms. to 100 ms.
Adjust this if callers are misdirected after selecting options using the auto attendant. Use a
shorter time if the TalkSwitch unit appears to have trouble hearing the digits. Use a longer
time if the auto attendant is misdirecting callers.
3. Select the Minimum required time between DTMF digits. This is how long the caller must wait
after releasing the number key on their phone for the TalkSwitch unit to detect the next
digit. Choices range from 30 ms. to 80 ms.
Do not adjust these settings unless advised to do so by your local dealer or technical support
centre. The default settings provide correc operation with telephone lines and
analogue extensions.
If your system does not appear to be functioning properly, ensure the region is set correctly
(see below), and then click the Use Defaults button on this window. If this does not resolve
the problem, please contact your local dealer or technical support centre for assistance.
To ensure the region is set correctly, check the country listed in the Region field of the About
page. If it does not match the country where the TalkSwitch unit is operating, change it in the
Region Selection area of the Administration page (if available).
