TALKSWITCH CONFIGURATION 162
Setting up automatic route selection and toll restriction
The Auto Route Selection page allows you to set up automatic route selection (ARS) and
toll restriction.
1. Configure the system password and hunt groups before setting up ARS and toll restriction.
2. Select the Auto Route Selection page.
Activate automatic route selection
The Activate Automatic Route Selection area allows you to activate automatic route selection,
and list the leading digits of calls to be re-directed or blocked.
1. Select the Activate Automatic Route Selection checkbox. When activated, the dialled digits of
all outgoing calls will be buffered and stored before being re-transmitted to the telephone
line after detection of dial tone. This feature is useful in cases where extension users forget
to wait for the telephone line dial tone (secondary dial tone) when making outgoing calls.
2. Select a free table entry to enter new leading digits, or edit an existing entry.
3. Enter the leading digits in the Leading digits box. Omit the hunt group number from the
leading digits. The system will only block or redirect calls where there is a matching leading
digit match and action; calls with leading digits not entered in the table will proceed
without being re-directed or blocked.
4. Select the Action. Choices are:
• Hunt group (n) — Performs ARS by routing the call to the hunt group.
• Block calls — Performs toll restriction by blocking the call.
Notes: The system selects the required action by matching the longest leading digits in the ARS
table to the digits dialled by the caller. Typical leading digits to enter in the table are
international and trunk call prefixes, area codes, premium service codes, and mobile service
provider codes.
