TALKSWITCH CONFIGURATION 47
Entering leading digits and assigning actions
What are leading digits?
Leading digits are the first digit or digits dialled in a call. They are the digits
used to decide if a call is to be redirected or blocked. The leading digits could
be international access code, country code, national code, STD code, area
code, leading digits of premium rate service codes, or phone number.
Leading digits can be 1–11 characters in length.
Leading digits can include numeric characters 0–9 and (wildcard).
The leading digits exclude the Line Hunt Group access code.
To redirect or block calls based on the leading digits:
1. Open the TalkSwitch Configuration program.
2. Select System Information -> Auto Route Selection.
3. Enter the leading digits in the Leading Digits field.
4. Select the desired Action (route calls to a specified Line Hunt Group or
block calls) from the drop-down list.
Figure 41: ARS — leading digit table
Calls with leading digits that do not match the entries in the ARS table will
be routed to the Line Hunt Group originally dialed by the caller.
The actual leading digits used in each country are subject to the national
numbering plan. Your telephone directory will provide information on
the numbers used.
