Important Information
Artwork Requirements
Key to achieving great printing is to start
with high quality graphics -- and the art
requirements for Pad Printing are exact-
ing and specic.
Our Graphics Arts Department can help,
whether you are starting from a sketch
or a pen-and-ink original, we have the
tools to create high-quality lms that will
make high-tolerance etched plates.
Our precision capabilities save on pro-
duction oor labor expenses. Better art
up front means fewer difculties on the
machine at the end.
Help us help you
We use PC platforms running Windows
operating system and support versions
3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, 2000, NT and XP. Mac
users should save les with a le name
such as: “lename.eps”. The three letter
le extension (.eps) should represent
the program the le was created in.
Some common le extensions are: .
ai, .eps, .pdf.
Our supported le formats (in order of
preference):
u Adobe Illustrator (.ai, .eps, .pdf)
u Adobe Photoshop (.psd, .eps, .tif,
.bmp)
u InDesign (.indd)
u Corel Draw
Note: CAD les (.dxf or .dwg) are
NOT considered artwork les.
They can be used as guidelines only.
Most industry standard graphics ap-
plications allow exporting les to one
of the above formats, or send it as an
AutoCAD 2000 le.
A common problem in transferring
artwork les is that the fonts used may
be special fonts we don’t have. To avoid
this problem include any and all True
Type Fonts that were used to create the
artwork or convert the fonts to outlines
or curves if the program allows it.
Include all placed images when sending
your artwork.
Films sent should be at actual-size with
the emulsion side down (while look-
ing at the image as it is to appear for
printing.) Please call to discuss before
sending lms for multi-color or process-
color work.
An approval form will be sent and will
require a signature before any plates
will be made.
