Battery - Indicates battery level. When charging, a scrolling icon will be displayed. The more bars, the stronger the charge. To log on GPRS - The icon will be displayed only when you have logged onto GPRS. MMS - Indicates you have one or more unread MMS messages. SMS - Indicates you have one or more unread SMS messages. Push message - Indicates that you have received new push message. Message full- if the icon is flashing, it indicates that the memory is full.
Alert type is “Vibration then Ring”. Bluetooth is activated. Chat room 1 or 2 is activated.
3 Getting Started Please read the safety instructions in the "Safety Information and Notices" section before use. Before using your phone, you must insert a valid SIM card supplied by your GSM operator or retailer. The SIM card contains your subscription information, your mobile telephone number and a small quantity of memory in which you can store phone numbers and messages. You can also insert a memory card.
3.1.4 Install the battery With the metallic contacts of the battery facing the metallic contacts in the battery slot, press the battery down into its slot until it locks into place. 3.1.5 Install the back cover Align and hook the back cover to the top of the battery slot and then press the back cover down until it locks into place. 3.2 Turning the Phone on To turn the phone on, press and hold the Hang Up key. Enter the PIN code if required (the 4 to 8 digit secret code of your SIM card).
Talking time and stand-by time can go up to 6 hours and 560 hours respectively. Depending on the network conditions, user settings and method of use, the actual results may vary. The only way to turn off the charger is to unplug it, so it is advisable to use an easily accessible AC power socket. If you do not intend to use your phone for several days, we recommend that you remove the battery. If the battery is powerless, the battery icon will reappear after a few minutes of charging. 3.
4 Text Entry 4.1 Input Method Your mobile phone supports several input methods, which include: ♦ Zi English ( ABC/ abc): Enter English text using Zi editor; ♦ Multi-Tap ( abc/ ABC): Press the keys that are marked with the corresponding letter you wish to enter. Press once to get the first letter on the key, press twice quickly to get the second letter and so on until the letter you want is displayed on the screen. ♦ Numeric (123): Enter numbers.
4.3.1 What is it? Zi Text Input is an intelligent editing mode for messages, which includes a comprehensive dictionary. It allows you to quickly enter text. You need to press once on the key corresponding to each letter needed to spell a word: keystrokes input will be analyzed. 4.3.2 How to use it Letters and symbols represented by each key are as follows: 2 to 9 To input letters 1 To input symbol 0 To input space To confirm the letter or word ◀/▶ ▲/▼ To browse the last or next available word.
4. Press the Left Soft Key [Select] or ▶ to confirm “HOME”. 4.4 Multi-tap English Input If you wish to use Multi-tap English input mode, press the # key to select " ABC" or “ abc”. This method requires multiple key presses to reach the desired character: the letter "h" is the second letter on the 4 key, so you must press 4 twice to enter "h". Using this mode requires you to press a key as many times as needed to enter the desired letter.
5 Calling 5.1 Make a Call Note: You can make a call only when the network name appears on the screen. 1. Enter the phone number. 2. Press the Pick-Up Key to dial the number. 5.1.1 Mute or unmute a call During a call, press the Left Soft Key [Options] and select Mute on or off. If you select Mute on, the microphone will be deactivated. When you switch from one call to another, muting will be cancelled. 5.1.

Press the Pick-Up Key to call directly. 5.3 Making an Emergency Call You can make an emergency call anytime, regardless of whether the cellular phone has been registered on the network. 6 Function Menu 6.1 How To Use 6.1.1 Select Menu Press the Left Soft Key [Menu] to enter main menu in idle mode. Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to change menus and press the Left Soft Key [Ok] to enter the selected menu. Note: The functions described below only appear when a SIM card is inserted. If you power on your phone without a SIM card, you will have limited access to menu functions when you press the Left Soft Key [Option]. Press the Right Soft Key [SOS] to make an emergency call.

The SIM phonebook is located on your SIM card and the number of entries you can store depends on the SIM card. The second phonebook (Smart phonebook) is integrated in the phone memory and the maximum number of name cards you can store is 500.

This menu allows you to keep a list of useful numbers such as Owner number, Service dial number and SOS number. 6.3.9 Settings ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ Memory Status: Press to view the SIM and phone memory status, which lists the used memory and total memory of contacts. Preferred Storage: Press to select the preferred storage: SIM card or phone.
Navigation Key Up or Down to select a sound, the selected sound will play after a few seconds. 6.3.12 Caller Video This menu allows you to associate a video from File Manager to a new contact or a selected contact. 6.4 Message Center The menus described in this section allow you to send/receive messages and manage your message. Only devices that have compatible features can receive and display multimedia messages. The appearance of the message may vary depending on the receiving device. 6.4.

Template View templates of MMS and SMS for you to insert into the message. SMS Message Settings This feature allows you to edit SMS message settings: ♦ Profile Setting: Press to select a profile. The profile includes profile name, SC Address, Valid Period and Message Type.

Memory Status: Press to view the usage, used space and free space of the MMS. 6.4.2 Chat This menu allows you to have a chat with your friend.
If you select Off, you will not receive any broadcast messages, even if you have set the corresponding channel numbers. Read Message When you receive a broadcast message, the message content will be displayed on the idle screen until you press the Right Soft Key [Back]. If you want to read it again, enter this menu. Languages Press to select the language in which you want to receive messages. Channel Setting Press to Select, Add, Edit or Delete channel.
6.5.2 Dialed Calls Select to view dialed calls. Detailed information and related operations are similar to those of Missed calls. 6.5.3 Received Calls Select to view received calls. Detailed information and related operations are similar to those of Missed calls. Note: You can also press the Pick-Up Key in idle mode to view Missed calls, Dialed calls or Received calls in a list .They are displayed in chronological order with the most recent call at the top of the list. 6.5.

If you select “Automatic”, your cellular phone will auto detect the language supported by your SIM card and phone. Preferred Input Method You can select one input method as your preferred input method. After setting, every time you enter an editor, it will use your perferred input method first.
Show Own Number: Select to turn on or off. Greeting Text This menu allows you to set the status and greeting text. If set to On, the greeting text will be displayed after the welcome animation. Speed Dial Enable Speed Dial: Press the Left Soft Key [On/Off] to activate or deactivate. Set Number: Select 2 to 9 as the speed dial location. Press the Left Soft Key [Options] in the list and select Edit to enter the phonebook.
This feature allows you to select your Caller ID settings. You can select Set by network, Hide ID or Send ID. Note: This feature is network/subscription dependent. Call Waiting If activated, when there is a second incoming call, it will prompt you. Select Query status to find out whether the call waiting is active or not.
Call Time Display Press the Left Soft Key [On] or [Off] to display the duration of your calls. Auto Redial When activated if the person you are calling is busy, your phone will automatically redial the number until a successful connection is made or until the maximum number of attempts is reached. Closed User Group You can specify a group of people to whom you can call and who can call you (network service). Press the Left Soft Key [Add] to add a group. You should enter the name and index.
You can press the Left Soft Key [Change] to modify your GPRS connection: When needed or Always. When needed: Your phone will connect to the GPRS service only when required. This option reduces energy consumption but increases the connection delay. Always: Your phone automatically connects to the GPRS service (if available). This option allows quicker access to GPRS features but increases energy consumption. 6.6.

Change Password Select to modify password, including PIN, PIN2 and Phone lock passwords. 6.6.
Add, Edit, Delete, Delete all, Enable/Disable, and Change order. Note: To use shortcuts, enter Main Menu>Settings>Phone Setup>Dedicated Key to define one of the Dedicated key as Shortcuts. Then press the related Dedicated key in idle mode to access the features defined in the shortcut list. 6.7 Multimedia 6.7.1 Camera Your mobile phone features a digital camera that allows you to take pictures, store them, set them as wallpaper or send them to your friends.
Settings Press 1: Shortcut to Effect Settings. Press 2: Shortcut to White Balance. Press 4: Shortcut to Delay Timer. Press 5: Shortcut to Cont Shot. Press 6: Shortcut to Scene Mode. Press 7: Shortcut to Image Quality. Press 8: Shortcut to Image Size. Press #: Appear or disappear the icons on the camera screen. Take a picture Press the OK Key or the 0 Key. After taking, press the Left Soft Key [Save] to save the picture to File Manager. The picture will be saved in JPEG format.
Camera settings ♦ Shutter sound: sound1, shound2, sound3, off. ♦ EV: EV -4, EV -3, EV -2, EV-1, EV 0, EV +1, EV +2, EV +3, EV+4; ♦ Banding: 50Hz, 60 Hz. ♦ Delay Timer: off, 5 secs, 10 secs, 15 secs. ♦ Cont Shot: off, 1 shot, 3 shot, 5 shot. You should press the Navigation Key Left or Right to toggle between these selections. Image settings ♦ Image Size: 176X220, 80x60, 160x120, 320x240, 640x480. ♦ Image Quality: low, normal, high. Select auto, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent, cloud, or incandescence.
Note: When there is not enough memory space, you will not be able to save the picture and you will be prompted with a warning message. So you should delete existing pictures before you can store new ones. 6.7.2 Image Viewer This menu lists the picture from File Manager > Phone/Memory card > Photos according to its storage setting. You can press the Left Soft Key [Option] to view, change browser style, forward, rename, delete, delete all, sort or choose storage.
Record a video Exit from Video mode and return to idle mode Press the OK Key or the 0 Key once to begin recording. Press the OK Key again to pause. Press the Right Soft Key [Stop] to stop recording. To save the video, press the Left Soft Key [Yes]. It will be stored in File Manager. The saved video is AVI format. Press the Hang-Up key or the Right Soft Key [Back] twice. Video Option Menu Before you start recording, you can change settings by pressing the Left Soft Key [Options].

Note: Saved sound files can be found in the File Manager > Phone/ Memory card > Audio menu according to your storage setting. When you select a sound file, press the Left Soft Key [Option] to access the following options: ♦ Record: Press to make a new recording. ♦ Play: Press to play the recording. ♦ Append: Press to add more to an existing recording. Note: This feature is only available when the file format is AMR. ♦ Rename: Press to rename the file. ♦ Delete: Press to delete the recording.

Press Left Soft Key Option to access the following options: Channel List: Select to view the list of preset channels.

Create Folder: Select to create a new sub-folder in the selected folder. Rename: Select to rename the selected folder. Delete: Select to delete the selected folder.
There are four games in your phone: puzzle, panda, dance and fruit. Press the Left Soft Key [Ok] to enter the options of every game: ♦ Start Game: Start the selected game; ♦ Game Level: Set the game level, some games do not have game level. ♦ Best Grades: Select to view the best grade of the selected game. ♦ Game Help: View the descriptions of the selected game. Game Setting You can also adjust the following settings by selecting Game setting: ♦ BGM: Select to set background music On or Off.

Create New Task To create a new task: 1. If there is no event, press the Left Soft Key [Add] to create a new task; if there is already an event, press the Left Soft Key [Option] and select Add to create new task. 2. Select the task type: Reminder, Meeting, Course, Date, Call or Anniversary. 3.
This menu allows you to set different World clocks and set Daylight savings time On or Off. Press the Left Soft Key [Ok] to enter the menu. A world map appears on screen - press the Navigation Key Left/Right to select the world clock. The corresponding city, date, and time is displayed on the top and bottom of the screen. Press the Left Soft Key [Option] to set Daylight savings time to On or Off for the foreign city. 6.

Your mobile phone also provides you with other tools for extra use, such as Calculator, Currency converter, Stopwatch, E-Book reader and Bluetooth. 6.13.1 Calculator Your mobile phone has a built in calculator. Enter the numbers with the keypad.
6.13.3 Stopwatch Your phone features two kinds of stopwatches: Typical stopwatch and nWay stopwatch. Typical Stopwatch Split Timing: The timepiece will be saved and continue to count when you press Split. The 2nd timepiece is recorded based on the continuous timing.
If there’s an e-book file in a list, its size and date will be shown under the title bar, press the Left Soft Key [Option] to select Open E-book to read the E-book. After opening the E-book, you can access the following options by pressing the Left Soft Key: ♦ Find: Select to find any text in case sensitive or case insensitive in the e-book. ♦ Find Next: Select if there’s more than one matched text-you can select this option to find next match.
Your phone supports Bluetooth wireless technology, allowing connection to a compatible Bluetooth device. To ensure interoperability between other Bluetooth devices, please check with the manufactureres of other devices. The Bluetooth connection can be subject to interference from obstructions such as walls or other electronic devices. Pair Devices To activate, press the OK Key to enter the main menu from idle mode and then select Extra > Bluetooth. On the Bluetooth screen, select Power on.
Battery saving Features using Bluetooth technology increase the demand on battery power and reduce the battery life. If you do not intend to use the Bluetooth feature for some time, you should deactivate it in order to conserve battery power. Bluetooth menu Power Turn Bluetooth feature On or Off. Inquiry Audio Device My devices Active Device Search for the audio devices that you can connect with, such as headset. Displays the Bluetooth devices that you have paired successfully and can connect to.
Setting About Select to display more features: • Visibility: Choose to show or hide your device by selecting On or Off. • Change Device Name: Edit the name of your device. • Authentication: Set on or off. • Audio Path: Select “Leave in Phone” or “Forward to BT Headset”. • FTP Setting: Set the shared folder and access right. The FTP function is used when your mobile phone connect to PC by Bluetooth. • Remote SIM Mode: Set on or off.
The PC will auto detect the phone as an external drive. User can then access the internal or external memory on the phone. If a memory card is not inserted, the PC will still detect phone memory. User can upload or download the files to mobile phone or memory card. When the transfer is finished, please make sure that you safely remove your device by clicking COM Port If you want the mobile phone to be used as modem for PC, you should choose this item.

8 Troubleshooting Common issue Bad connection Aftersound or cacophony Reason Using cellular phone in an area where the network connection is poor, such as around a tower or basement where radio wave cannot be sent effectively. Using cellular phone when network is busy, such as an on-off duty time, line busy. Related to the distance of the send basis of the network. Idle time becomes short Idle time is related to network settings. Need to change battery. Cannot switch on When you cannot receive signals, your cellular phone will continue to send to find a basis.
