 Screen lock sounds: Select to enable or disable
the screen lock sounds.
 Haptic feedback: Check to have the phone vibrate
briefly when you touch and hold the
Menu/Home/Back/Search key to perform actions.
Display

Brightness: Select to open the brightness control,
and then slide your finger along the brightness bar
to set the level.
 Auto-rotate screen: Select to switch orientation
automatically when rotating phone.
 Animation: Select to activate the animation while
opening or closing windows.
 Screen timeout: Select to decide how long your
phone must be inactive before the screen turns off.
 E-Compass Calibration: Select to start
E-Compass calibration. You can wave your phone
in a figure 8 pattern to reset the magnetometer in
your device.
 G-Sensor Calibration: Place the phone on a level
surface, and then touch Calibration to start
G-Sensor Calibration.
Location & Security
Use the Location & Security settings to set your
preferences for using and sharing your location when
you search for information and use location-aware
applications, such as Maps. You can also configure
settings that help secure your phone and its data.
 Use wireless networks: Check to use information
from Wi-Fi and mobile networks to determine your
approximate location, for use in Maps, when you
search, etc.
 Use GPS satellites: Check to use your phone’s
global positioning system (GPS) satellite receiver to
pinpoint your location to within accuracy as close as
several meters (“street level”). Actual GPS
accuracy depends on a clear view of the sky and
other factors.
 Use assisted GPS: Select to enable or disable it.
