have excellent resistance to ozone & sunlight. Commonly used whenever
wires pass through drilled holes, punched sheet metal, plastic casings, etc.,
to prevent abrasion. If metal or another hard metal has a hole made in it,
the hole may have sharp edges. Electrical wires, cord, rope, lacings or
other soft vulnerable material passing through the hole can become
abraded,cutorelectricalinsulationmaybreakduetorepeatedexingat
theexitpoint.Grommetsareusedtoavoidthis&alsoprotectthewiring
from contamination via dirt, air, water, etc. The smooth, soft inner surface
of the grommet shields the wire from damage.
