drawings and specified herein. Shall include lights,
thermometers, pilot lights and accessories for complete first
class installation. Install compressors, refrigerant piping
and refrigerant as specified.
B. Specification is based on walk-in boxes as manufactured by
Kolpak*M112, N.S.F. approved. Alternate manufacturers
include, Penn, Norlake, Master-Bilt. Alternate
manufacturers, as listed here-in, must provide equipment of
exact same dimensional size, and comparable construction with
similar utility requirements to the walk-in box manufacturer on
which this specification is based. Use of equivalent
manufacturers equipment shall not require changes to the plan,
the equipments location or to plumbing / electrical service
designated within the contract documents. Listed Equivalent
manufacturers are responsible for verifying they comply with
these requirements before submitting a bid.
C. Walk-in refrigerators of less than 3,000 square feet shall
comply with the Energy Independence & Security Act of 2007
D. Design layout and overall size of walk-in units as shown on plans
and as specified. Walk-in refrigerator is an integral part of
a walk-in refrigerator / freezer unit; overall 27'-8 1/4"W. X
23'-1"D. X 8'-6"H. exterior top to bottom of pre-fab floor (ref.
plan for offset in front wall). Refrigerator interior
dimensions - 7'-4"W. x 18-6.5"D. Refrigerator compartment
being completely free of freezer for use and operation. Unit
shall be installed on recessed floor/slab furnished by General
Contractor, see detail on drawings. Install floor at same
elevation as finished kitchen floor.
E. Provider of walk-in is required to field measure locations of
walls / columns and other building constraints and provide
walk-in to fit such conditions.
F. Provide walk-in with minimum R-28, 4" insulated floor designed
to with stand uniformly distributed loads of minimum 600 lbs per
square foot. 16 ga. galvanized steel on all surfaces.
Coordinate walk-in installation with General Contractor.
Walk-in shall set on an 8-1/2"D. recessed concrete floor leveled
with ½" of fill sand as detailed. Walk-in wear surface shall
be 4" concrete (ref. general) atop insulated floor panels.
