20. Elevated Shelves:
a. Materials;
1) Shelf top / tubing / tubing supports / double pan box
supports shall be Stainless Steel.
2) Solid top shelf under bracing and supports shall be
Stainless Steel.
b. Shelf tops shall be 16 ga. Edges as specified for each
specific item. Turn edges adjacent to taller items up 2"
on 1/4"R. flush to surface face. Under brace elevated
shelves lengthwise with 14 ga. x 1" x 4" x 1" channel or
1-1/2" x 1-1/2" angle, stud bolted to bottom when
unsupported shelf length exceeds 48".
c. Support wall mounted shelves with 14 ga. "Knife" tapered
cantilever bottom support wall brackets (unless noted
otherwise). Brackets have 1" x 90
o
return on
perpendicular sides, stud bolted to shelf bottom,
expansion anchored to wall. Brackets 36" O.C. max.
d. Support shelves mounted on tables / equipment at
intermediate locations with 1-5/8" O.D., 16GA. tubing with
14 ga. "Knife" tapered cantilever support, unless noted
otherwise. Spans between shelf supports shall not exceed
5'-0" except as noted. Ends of shelves supported by Shelf
Width x 18"H. x 1-1/2"T. double pan box supports.
Provide16 ga. exterior pans, 20 ga. interior pans.
Exterior pans constructed with 90
o
x 1-1/2" returns at
vertical sides. Interior pans similar, inset to edges of
exterior pan edges. Top edge of interior pan turned
outward 90 for 1" and stud bolted to bottom of elevated
shelf. Continuously weld bottom of support pans to Metal
Top and backsplash, with exterior pan face flush to face
edge of table.
1) On tables with Curb Back Splashes, Stainless Steel
tubing shall extend to 2" Curb top and fully weld
thereto.
