19. Troubleshooting
a) Possible Errors during Communication
Drivers not installed:
• Re-install „CP210xVCPInstaller.exe“ on the CD in directory „MCU“
Drivers not installed correctly:
• Uninstall and reinstall drivers
COM-Port above COM10:
• Move COM port: Go to Properties / Connection Settings / More... / COM port number in the device manager and find a free COM-port below
COM10
Software message „ERROR: No answer received from module!“:
• Check USB connection between the module and PC or check operating voltage
• Select correct COM port in the software and click „Status“ again
• Operating voltage missing or too low
b) Possible Errors during Logon
SIM card locked:
• Insert SIM card in a mobile phone and unlock with the PUK
No four-digit PIN code:
• Insert SIM card in a mobile phone, activate PIN query and set a four-digit code
Display „Level = 0“ and signal strength only shows red bars:
• Not logged on to the GSM network yet; wait until the GSM module has logged on.
• Move the aerial if required.
c) Possible Errors during Response
No phone number displayed in the status:
• Activate caller ID transmission in the mobile phone
SMS arrives but response is not sent:
• Enter wrong phone number
• Caller ID transmission deactivated
• SMS sent from another mobile phone or configuration not transmitted
• Capitalisation not observed
• Not enough credit on the prepaid card
