WEB Rendering Capability of CE labs MP500 and MP700
1. Introduction
CE labs’ HD Media Players, MP500 and MP700 are designed around Sigma
Designs’ advanced audio/video processing chipsets which offer highly-
integrated solutions for high-bit rate HD video decoding architecture. The
stable Linux platform is running CE labs’ own digital signage Middleware
which provides various control interface options including Industry-standard
based management protocol, SNMP. In this white paper, we provide the
specifications and performances of the browsers employed with statistical
perspective, and actual performances will vary based on Internet band-width,
type and sizes of contents used.
2. Hardware Specication Comparison
As you can see above, the chipset used in MP700 is designed to provide
about 2~4 times of performance boost over MP500. MP500 can handle most
of high bit rate video including Blu-ray type contents, but MP700 can handle
even higher bit rate video with faster CPU and Decoder. The higher performing
CPU will also provide faster and smoother rendering of web contents.
