MODEL DBBQ212 DIGITAL FORK
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FEATURES:
The DBBQ212 offers a quick and dependable way to assure that food is safely
cooked to perfection.
Temperature sensor is located in bottom ½” of fork time. Perfect for measuring
internal temperature of thin cuts such as meat patties, chicken breasts and fish.
Large LCD display is easy to read and shows temperature in either F or C
Temperature range: 32 to 212º F, 0 to 100º C.
Sturdy, stainless steel tines can safely support up to 8 pounds of meat.
Compact shape. Easy to carry on picnics and outings. Extra convenience for
storage.
USDA Temperature guide is printed on handle for quick reference.
OPERATION:
1. Remove battery door on back of handle by depressing clip and pulling outward.
2. Set slide switch inside battery compartment to display either F or C.
3. Insert AAA 1.5 V battery observing polarity. Replace battery door.
4. Turn Digital Fork on bay pressing ON/OFF switch on front panel.
5. Insert fork tine into the center of the meat, or at least ½” to assure an accurate
reading.
6. Wait a few seconds for the reading to stabilize. With meat of uneven thickness,
such as a boneless leg of lamb, it will be necessary to probe both the thicker and
thinner sections.
IMPORTANT: The fork must not be left in a hot oven. The electronic circuitry will be
damaged.
7. When through, press the ON/OFF switch, and wipe the fork tine clean.
FOOD SAFETY:
The food safety branch of the USDA advises cooking ground meat patties to an
internal temperature of 160º F to assure a safely cooked product. Tests have shown the
color of the patty is no indication of doneness. A thermometer must be used to assure
that the correct temperature has been reached. A digital thermometer is one of the best
thermometer to use because the temperature is measured at the bottom ½” of the stem-a
necessity when measuring thin cuts of meats.
