The Viewfinder is commonly used to determine which focal length of lens
should be used to give the correct angle of view in a particular situation. It does
this by altering the scene through the eye-piece and relating it to a particular
format focal length, which can be easily read off the scales on the barrel. The
scales relate to

" and 1". Simple to use, it helps to eliminate
problems by matching the field of view to the size of lens required.
A filter kit is essential during the installation and initial set-up of any CCTV
system where it is necessary to ensure that the equipment is adjusted to the
optimum settings for the varying light conditions to which the camera will be
subjected. By using certain optical filters mounted on the front of the lens, it is
possible to assist the set-up procedure by simulating different operating
conditions. For example, IR pass and ND3 for IR set-up on black and white
cameras.
