PREVENTION OF HEARING LOSS
To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
EMERGENCY CALL
This device can be used for emergency calls in the service area. The connection, however, cannot be guaranteed in all
conditions. The device should not be relied on solely for essential communications.
CE SAR COMPLIANCE
This device meets the EU requirements (1999/519/EC) on the limitation of exposure of the general public to
electromagnetic fi elds by way of health protection.
The limits are part of extensive recommendations for the protection of the general public. These recommendations have
been developed and checked by independent scientifi c organizations through regular and thorough evaluations of scientifi c
studies. The unit of measurement for the European Council’s recommended limit for mobile devices is the “Specifi c
Absorption Rate” (SAR), and the SAR limit is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of tissue. It meets the requirements of
the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP).
For body worn operation, this device has been tested and meets the ICNIRP exposure guidelines and the European
Standard EN 62209-2, for use with dedicated accessories. Use of other accessories which contain metals may not ensure
compliance with ICNIRP exposure guidelines.
SAR is measured with the device at a separation of 5 mm to the body, while transmitting at the highest certifi ed output
power level in all of the device’s frequency bands.
The highest reported SAR values under the CE regulatory for the phone are listed below:
Head SAR : 0.997 W/kg, Body SAR : 1.479 W/kg, Limbs SAR : 3.265 W/Kg
To reduce exposure to RF energy, use a hands-free accessory or other, similar options to keep this device away from your
head and body. The device must be carried 5 mm from the body to ensure exposure levels remain at or below the as-tested
levels. Choose belt clips, holsters, or other similar body-worn accessories which do not contain metallic components to
support operation in this manner. Cases with metal parts may change the RF performance of the device, including its
compliance with RF exposure guidelines in a manner that has not been tested or certifi ed. Thus, use of such accessories
should be avoided.
