Procedure for the Tractor

mission sight gauge (1) and oil filler cap (2) are
located on the differential case at the right rear of
the tractor.
1. Park the machine on level ground. Place the
transmission in NEUTRAL and engage the parking
brak
e.
2. Lower the bowl and the apron to the ground. Run
the e
ngine at low idle.
3. Clean transmission sight gauge (1) and oil filler
cap
(2).
4. Maintain the oil level between the “FULL” mark
and
the “ADD” mark in the sight gauge.
5. Remove the oil filler cap and add, if necessary.
6. Install the oil filler cap.
7. St
op the engine.
Note: Red dye is
added to the transmission oil
at the factory. If the oil in differential oil level sight
gauge (3) has a red color, transmission oil has
leaked into th
e differential. If oil is leaking from the
transmission, see your Caterpillar dealer for further
information. 9U-5031 Red Oil Dye may be added to
your transmi
ssion oil. See your Caterpillar dealer for
further information.
Procedure for the Scraper

Oil filler cap (4) and transmission sight gauge (5) are
locate
d on the transmission oil reservoir on the left
side of the scraper.
1. Park th
e machine on level ground. Place the
transmission in NEUTRAL and engage the parking
brake.
2. Lower the bowl and the apron to the ground. Run
the engine at low idle.
3. Clean transmission sight gauge (5) and oil filler
cap (4).
4. Maintain the oil level between the “FULL” mark
and the “ADD” mark in the sight gauge.
5. Remove the oil filler cap and add oil, if necessary.
6. Ins
tall the oil filler cap.
7. Stop the engine.
