Suction Screen (Transmission Scavenge) - Clean
Procedure for the Tractor

The suction screen for the transmission is located at
the left r
ear of the transmission for the tractor.
1. Park the machine on level ground. Engage the
parking
brake.
2. Lower the bowl to the ground. Shut off the engine.
3. Clean the area around the housing for the suction
screen.
4. Remove drain plug (1). Allow the oil to drain into a
suitable container.
5. Remove bolts (2) for the cover of the suction
screen.
6. Remove cover (3).
7. Remov
e the suction screen. Clean the suction
screeninnonflammable solvent.
8. Insp
ect the suction screen for damage. If the
suction screen is damaged, replace the suction
screen.
9. Install the suction screen.
10. Ins
pect the seal for the cover. Replace the seal
if the seal is damaged.
11. Cle
an the cover. Install the cover.
12. Clean the drain plug. Install the drain plug.
13. Start the engine.

eck the area around the screen housing for
leaks.

heck the transmission oil level. Add oil, if
necessary. Refer to Operation and Maintenance
Manual, “Transmission Oil Level - Check” for the
p
roper procedure.
16. Stop the engine

the Scraper

The suction screen is located below the transmission
for the scraper.
Note: Move the ejector forward in order to have
better access to the transmission.
1. Perform Steps 1 through 3 in “Procedure for the
Tractor”.
2. Remove hose (4). Allow the oil to drain into a
suitable container .
3. Remove bolts (5) for the cover of the suction
screen.
4. Remove cover (6).
5. Remov
e the suction screen. Clean the suction
screen in nonflammable solvent.
6. Insp
ect the suction screen for damage. If the
suction screen is damaged, replace the suction
screen.
7. Install the suction screen.
8. Ins
pect the seal for the cover. Replace the seal
if the seal is damaged.
9. Cle
an the cover. Install the cover.
10. Clean the fitting for the hose. Install the hose.
11. Start the engine for the tractor. Start the engine
for the scraper.
12. Check the area around the screen housing for
leaks.
