Engine Air Filter Service Indicator - Inspect/Replace
1. Useatoweltore
move the dust which has
collected on the indicator (1).
2. Examine the in
dicator. The machine may be
operated when the indicator is yellow. The
machineshouldnotbeoperatedwhenthe
indicator is
red. If the indicator is red, the air lter
will need to be cleaned or the air lter will need
to be replaced.
3. Once the air lter has been checked, the indicator
should be reset. Push in the reset button (2) on
the indicat
or. The indicator will return to the yellow
color.

Note: The air lter indicator should be replaced
during engine overhauls. The air lter indicator should
also be replaced during replacement of any major
engine component. Replace the air lter indicator at
least one time per year.
1. Open the access door.
2. Stop the engine. Check the operation of service
indicator (1) by pressing in reset button (2) on the
service indicator. This should require no more
than three presses of the reset button.
3. Next, check the
movement of the yellow piston
in the service indicator. Start the engine and
acceleratetheenginetohighidleforafew
seconds. Afte
r the accelerator control (pedal)
is released, the yellow piston should remain at
the highest position that was achieved during
acceleratio
n.
4. If the indicator will not reset easily, replace the
service ind
icator. If the yellow piston of the
indicator will not latch at the highest vacuum that
is attained, replace the service indicator.
5. Close the access door.
6. Repeat Ste
p 1 through Step 5 for the scraper.

Engine Air Precleaner - Clean

NOTICE
Service the engine air precleaner only with the engine
stopped. Engine damage could result.
The engine air precleaner is positioned on top of the
engine compartment.

1. Loosen clamp (1) at the bottom of engine air
precleaner (2).
2. Remove engine air precleaner (2) and inspect the
opening for dirt and debris. Clean the tubes, if
n
ecessary.
3. Clean engine air precleaner (2) with pressure air
o
r wash the engine air precleaner (2) in clean
warm water.
4. Install engine air precleaner (2). Tighten clamp (1).
