Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change
Procedure for the Scraper
The differential housing is located under the
transmission of the scraper.
Note: Movetheejectorforwardinordertomake
access to the differential housing easier.

Operate the machine until the differential oil is warm.
Park the machine on a level surface. Lower the bowl.
1. Engage the parking brake. Stop the engine.
2. Clean t
he area around the drain plug (7) of the
differential housing.
3. Remov
e the drain plug from the differential
housing. Drain the oil into a suitable container.
4. Clean
the drain plug. Install the drain plug.

Note: Drainplug(8)forthenal drive is located on
the hub of the wheel. The plug must be at the lowest
point for the plug in order to drain the nal drive.
5. Clean the area around plug (8).
6. Remove plug (8). Drain the oil into a suitable
container.
7. Clean plug (8).
Install plug (8).
8. Repeat this procedure for the other wheel.

Note: Filler tube (10) for the differential is located at
the righ
t rear of the scraper.
9. Clean the area around the ller cap (10). Remove
the cap.
10. Fill the differential with oil through the ller tube.
Fill th
e differential to the “FULL” mark that is on
the dipstick. The dipstick is located under the ller
cap (4). Refer to the Operation and Maintenance
Manual
,“Capacities(Rell)” and the Operation
and Maintenance Manual, “Lubricant Viscosities”
for further information.
11. Clean the ller cap. Install the ller cap.
Note:
The differential and the nal drives share a
common oil reservoir. However, the oil level of the
nal drive housings should be checked.
12. The drain plugs (8) for the nal drives should be
located at the lowest point for the plug.
13. Cleantheareaaroundtheller plug (9).
14. Rem
ove the ller plug for the nal drive. Oil
should drip out of the ller plug hole when the nal
drive is full of oil.
15. Add oil to the ller plug hole if oil is needed.

Cl
ean the ller plug. Install the ller plug.
17. Repeat this procedure for the other wheel.
