Personal i
njury can result from hot coolant, steam
and alkali.
At operat
ing temperature, engine coolant is hot
and under pressure. The radiator and all lines
to heaters or the engine contain hot coolant or
steam. A
ny contact can cause severe burns.
Remove filler cap slowly to relieve pressure only
when eng
ine is stopped and radiator cap is cool
enough to touch with your bare hand.
Do not a
ttempt to tighten hose connections when
the coolant is hot, the hose can come off causing
burns.
Cooling System Conditioner c ontains alkali. Avoid
contact with skin and eyes.
Replace the water temperature regulator for the
cooling system on a regular basis in order to reduce
the ch
ance of unscheduled downtime. Replace the
water temperature regulator for the cooling system
on a regular basis in order to reduce the chance of
prob
lems with the cooling system.
The water temperature regulator should be replaced
afte
r the cooling system has been cleaned. Replace
the water temperature regulator while the cooling
system is completely drained or while the cooling
sys
tem coolant is drained to a level that is below the
housing assembly of the water temperature regulator.
NOTICE
Fa
ilure to replace the engine's water temperature reg-
ulator on a regularly scheduled basis could cause se-
vere engine damage.
1. Drain the cooling system coolant to a level that
is below the housing assembly of the water
t
emperature regulator.
