Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change

4. The coolant drain valve is located behind guard
(2). Remove access cover (1) for the coolant d rain
valve.
5. Open the coolant drain valve. Drain the coolant
into a suitable container.
6. Flush the cooling system with clean water until the
draining water is transparent.
7. Close the coolant drain valve. Install the access
cover.
8. Add ELC. Refer to the following topics:

9. Start the engine. Operate the engine without
the cooling system pressure cap until the water
temperature regulator opens and the coolant level
stabilizes.
10. Check the coolant level. The radiator is full when
the sight gauge is completely covered. Also, the
radiator is full when the coolant level reaches the
top of the angled cut on the filler tube. Refer to
Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling
System Coolant Level - Check”.
11. Inspect the gasket of the cooling system pressure
cap. If the gasket is damaged, replace the gasket.
12. Clean the cooling system pressure cap. Install
thecoolingsystempressurecap.
13. Stop the engine.
Procedure for the Scraper

The coolant drain valve is located under the radiator
at the rear of the scraper.
1. Park the machine on a level surface and engage
the parking brake. Stop the engine. Allow the
engine to cool.
2. Clean the area around the cooling system
pressure cap of any dirt or debris. This must be
done before the cooling system pressure cap can
be removed.
3. Slowly remove the cooling system pressure cap in
order to release pressure.
4. Open coolant drain valve (3). Drain the coolant
into a suitable container.
5. Flush the cooling system with clean water until the
draining water is transparent.
6. Close the coolant drain valve.
7. Add ELC. Refer to the following topics:
