Conﬁrm by tapping ok. The coordinate pair of the y-intercept is (0,1). The

trace feature may be used to evaluate the function for any speciﬁed value of

x. The process can repeated for x = 3, providing the coordinate pair (3, 7).

Another quick method to ﬁnd the y-intercept involves using the Analysis

followed by G-Solve then y-intercept.

5.4.2 x-intercepts/ roots

For the function y = 2x + 1 we have one x-intercept, otherwise known as

a root. To ﬁnd the root (reported as approximate if applicable) choose

analysis from the menu bar followed by G-Solve followed by Root.
