Subtotal item
A subtotal item is used to calculate all items above it on a form, up to the last subtotal. It is useful for applying a
surcharge or discount to many items.
Group item
A group item is designed to sell an item that contains multiple items. When the item is sold the inventory on hand
and sales gures are updated for each item.
Discount item
A discount item is used to subtract a percentage or xed amount from a total or subtotal.
Payment item
A payment item records a payment you have received at the time of the sale. It reduces the amount owed on an
invoice.

When setting up items in Reckon Accounts to use in POS we recommend setting them up with a
Gross price.
POS custom elds in Reckon Accounts
Once you have installed POS Administrator and linked it with a Reckon Accounts data le you will notice that there
are custom elds available in Reckon Accounts ready for use in the various item types.
