Getting Started
Service item
A service item does not track inventory on hand but is used for the sale of services in POS, for example jewellery
cleaning or repairs. It has its own item code, and sales transactions are tracked and reported in Reckon Accounts.
Inventory part item
An inventory part item is created for items you want to track inventory on hand. Transactions are sent to Reckon
Accounts from POS and the inventory and value on hand is updated automatically.
Inventory assembly item
(Inventory assembly items are only available in Reckon Accounts Pro and above) An inventory assembly item is used
for assembled merchandise you build or purchase, track as inventory and resell.
Non-inventory part item
A non-inventory part item does not track inventory on hand but is used to create department keys for inventory
that varies in price and/or does not require tracking inventory on hand, for example fruit and vegetables. It can have
its own item code and sales transactions are tracked and reported in Reckon Accounts.
Other charge item
An other charge item is created for miscellaneous labour, materials, or part charges such as delivery charges, setup
fees and service charges.
