2.9.7 Server Configuration -
Dial-Up
The Server Configuration - Dial-Up page
provides settings for server connection pa-
rameters for dial-up-connected jukeboxes.
Remember that a dial-up jukebox is not “al-
ways on line” like a broadband connected
jukebox is. Therefore it must sometimes
share a telephone line with the location. A
schedule is provided to help eliminate con-
flicts between jukebox and location use of
the same phone line.
If the jukebox has a modem installed, a
choice of either Broadband or Dial-Up
Server Connection type is displayed. If a
modem is not installed, the Dial-Up button
will not be displayed. See the previous sec-
tion for a description of dial-up configura-
tion options.
Enter server configuration by touching the
text box for Server URL and Agent Name
separately. A keyboard pops up to enter the
proper data for each field as it is selected.
Touch the text box below Start Time or Stop
Time for a pop-up “clock” keypad to set
those desired times. NOTE: The start time
must always be earlier than the stop time.
(For instance, setting Start to 10 p.m. and
Stop to 3 a.m. is an invalid entry.)
Check each Day(s) of Week that you would
like the jukebox to dial-up and connect to
the server. If no days are checked, the juke-
box will eventually go Out Of Service for fail-
ure to contact the server. Be sure at least
one day is checked.
Touch the Prefix box to open a touch pad
with characters that may be used to enter
any local telephone access codes or to dis-
able call waiting signals. Touch the Phone
Number box to select from a list of local
telephone numbers that can be used to con-
nect to the server. If a local number is not
available on the list, call AMI Entertainment
Customer Service for assistance.
The Number to dial box will display the ac-
tual number that will be dialed. This num-
ber can be modified by using the Include 1
and Omit Area Code check boxes.
Touch the Connect button to have the juke-
box dial up and connect to the server im-
mediately without waiting for the next sched-
uled connect day and time. Dialing and con-
nection progress will be shown in a status
window.
To save your changes and return to the Ser-
vice Mode - Main Menu, touch the Main
Menu button.
Touch the Test Connection button to per-
form a quick test confirming that the juke-
box is connected to the server. If the con-
nection fails, check settings in the IP Con-
figuration and Network Information screens
found under the Service Mode - Diagnos-
tics section.
To save your changes and return to the Ser-
vice Mode - Main Menu, touch the Main
Menu button.
