Settings
Global Data Roaming Access: Opens a dialog where you can set the
data service usage while roaming. Select Deny data roaming access
to prevent your phone from transmitting data on other carriers’ mobile
networks when you can not access your own carrier’s mobile networks.
System select: You can set your phone to search or roam for another
network when you are not in your home area. Leave this setting as
default unless you want to alter the system selection as instructed by
your service provider. See “Configuring system select” on page 118.
Call settings
Use Call settings to configure phone call settings.
Call settings screen
Voicemail service: Opens a dialog where you can select your
carrier’s voicemail service or another service.
Voicemail settings: If you are using your carrier’s voicemail service,
this will open a dialog where you can enter the phone number to
use for listening to and managing your voicemail. You can insert a
pause into the number by touching the *#( key then Pause key. “P” is
inserted as a pause indication.—for example, to add a password after
the phone number.
Push to Talk: Check to turn PTT on.
Auto Retry: Check to automatically redial a number after a certain
period of time when the attempted call fails.
TTY mode: Opens a dialog where you can set TTY mode to
communicate with other TTY devices.
DTMF Tones: Opens a dialog where you can set the key tone length
and touch tone playback speed. If you select Normal, your phone
sends out a tone for a fixed period of time even if you continue to touch
and hold a dial pad key. If you select Long, your phone sends out a
continuous tone for the duration a dial pad key is touched and held.
Voice Privacy: Check to turn the voice privacy feature on.
