3. Uncheck 3G Mobile Hotspot to stop sharing your data connection
via Wi-Fi.
Renaming or securing your mobile hotspot
You can change the name of your phone’s Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
and secure its Wi-Fi network.
1. On the Home screen, touch the Menu key M > Settings >
Wireless & networks > 3G Mobile Hotspot.
2. Ensure 3G Mobile Hotspot is checked.
3. Touch 3G Mobile Hotspot settings.
4. Touch Configure 3G Mobile Hotspot.
The Configure 3G Mobile Hotspot dialog opens.
You can change the network SSID (name) that other PC see when
scanning for Wi-Fi networks.
You can also change the security type and password to use for
connection with other PC.
5. Touch Save.
NOTE
Default 3G Mobile Hotspot settings are as follows:
SSID: VerizonC771-******
Where ****** represents last 6 digits of your phone’s Wi-Fi
MAC address.
Security: WPA2 PSK
Password: 1234567890
