back-up battery replacement, unplugging of the AC power cord or occurrence of a power outage while the
back-up battery is not loaded, etc.)

■ Setting a Conversion Rate
Example: To set the conversion rate for your local currency as 1 euro = 1.95583 DM (Deutsche marks)

Local 1 (Local 2 or Local 3)
• You can check the rate currently assigned to a Local key (Local 1, Local 2, Local 3) by pressing CA and then the
key whose settings you want to check. The setting data appears on the display, but is not printed.
• The following are the factory default rate settings.
Local 1 RATE = 1.95583 Local 2 RATE = 6.55957 Local 3 RATE = 1936.27

• You can check the currently set rate by pressing CA and then TAX+. The setting data appears on the display, but is
not printed.

For rates of 1 or greater, you can input up to six digits. For rates less than 1 you can input up to 8 digits, including 0
for the integer digit and leading zeros (though only six signifi cant digits, counted from the left and starting with the fi rst
non-zero digit, can be specifi ed).
