Using 1Seg
1Seg service is provided by broadcasting companies (broadcasters). Communications charges do
not apply to receive video and v
oice data. For details on NHK receiving fees, contact NHK.

charges may apply for some sites (i-mode pay sites).

Broadcast waves
1Seg is one of the broadcast services and receives signals (broadcast waves) different from those of
FOMA servic
es. In locations such as the following, the signal reception status may become weak or
out of service.
Far from the signal tower
Hiding behind objects; e.g. in a mountain or building
In tunnels, underground areas, and some locations far inside buildings
* To improve reception, extend the antenna. You may be able to improve reception by changing
antenna direction, or moving to another location.
Battery
When you activate 1Seg with the low battery, a confirmation screen appears prompting you to
select whether or
not to activate 1Seg. When the battery gets low while watching or recording 1Seg,
the
low-battery alarm tone sounds, and a confirmation screen appears prompting you to select
whether or not to end wa
tching or r
ecording.
If "Rec. when low battery" is set to "ON", the low-battery alarm tone does not sound while
recording.
When no operation is performed on the confirmation screen for approx. 1 minute, 1Seg is
automatically turned off.
Display when using 1Seg for the first time
The disclaimer screen appears. When selecting "NO" on a confirmation
screen that is displayed by
pressing
Xd
(OK), the screen will not appear from the next time.
